Time to celebrate for Costa Mesa and Newport high school graduates

Newport-Mesa high schools graduated about 1,500 seniors Thursday in four separate ceremonies in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.

At Jim Scott Stadium, Estancia’s ceremony included speeches by students Naomi Beth, Morgan Miller and Associated Student Body President Christian Perez.

Later at the stadium, Costa Mesa High School heard from Associated Student Body President Jeirany Chavez and senior class President Jennifer Garcia during its ceremony.

Corona del Mar celebrated at the campus and honored the school’s eight valedictorians: Johara Almandily, Allison Green, Paige Hardy, Brandon Huang, Janelle Kaneda, Benjamin Kashanchi, Marcos Murai and Gabrielle Schwab.

The Newport Harbor High Class of 2015 elected fellow graduating seniors Alec Church and Molly McCunniff to be the student speakers for its ceremony at Davidson Field.
