Skate league announces scholarships

Share

The National Scholastic Skateboarding League held its skate scholarship awards ceremony for current and former team members in or on their way to college.

Jesus Acevedo, an Estancia High School junior, and Thomas Dougherty of UC Riverside each received a $1,000 scholarship at the awards ceremony Saturday.

Acevedo has a 4.5 grade point average, according to the league’s president, Katrina Foley. Dougherty attended Northwood High School when that team was league champion two years ago, she said.
