Chapman to present update on economic predictions

The annual Chapman University Economic Forecast returns to Costa Mesa on June 19 for a midyear update on the predictions made last year.

Following a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., the presentation begins at 8:30 in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, 610 Town Center Drive.

Chapman’s president, Jim Doti, and Esmael Adibi, director of the university’s A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research, will discuss national, state and local economic factors such as the health of the housing sector, retail activity, consumer spending and consumer confidence.

In November, the 36th annual Economic Forecast predicted steady but slow growth for Orange County’s economy, which it said would be “stuck in low gear” in 2014.
