Kidney fundraiser gets $20,000 donation

The National Kidney Foundation got a $20,000 donation from the Grainger Foundation ahead of a fundraising walk in Irvine this weekend.

The Kidney Foundation holds walks across the nation to raise awareness and money to fight kidney disease.

This Sunday, Mason Regional Park in Irvine will host a walk starting at 9:30 a.m.

Irvine’s state Sen. Mimi Walters will be the event’s honorary grand marshal.

The private Grainger Foundation was started in 1949 by William Wallace Grainger, founder of the industrial supply company that also bears his name.
