Share

Costa Mesa’s Cultural Arts Committee is inviting artists at least 18 years old to participate in a new beautification project that will put artwork on utility boxes.

Artists are encouraged to stick with themes that celebrate Costa Mesa’s heritage and history, including its natural areas, surf culture and City of the Arts motto, according to a news release.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. May 8. Applications and guidelines are available on the city’s website, https://www.costamesaca.gov, or by emailing justin.martin@costamesaca.gov.

Each person is limited to three entries. Selected artists will receive a $100 honorarium.

Selections will be announced the week of May 18. Artwork installations are scheduled to be completed by July 1.
