Balboa Village Fest gets party started for Newport to Ensenada race

Festivities for this weekend’s Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race got off to a sailing start Sunday with the Balboa Village Fest at the Balboa Fun Zone in Newport Beach.

The festival featured the unveiling of artist Gary Miltimore’s annual painting commissioned for the Newport to Ensenada event, plus chalk art, kids’ exploration stations provided by ExplorOcean, music from U2 tribute band Hollywood U2 and dishes from Newport restaurants at the second annual Taste of Balboa.

The 68th Newport to Ensenada race is scheduled for Friday through Sunday.
