Costa Mesa police arrested three people suspected of driving under the influence at a checkpoint Friday night.

More than 550 vehicles passed through the screening location at Baker and Bear streets between 8 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Costa Mesa Police Department.

In addition to the three DUI arrests, officers took one person into custody for possession of illegal drugs and cited four people for driving without valid licenses, police said.
