Authorities on Friday identified a man who was killed a day earlier in a motorcycle crash on the 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa.

Antonio Carranza, 35, of Costa Mesa died at the scene around 2:40 a.m. Thursday after he struck the center divider on the transition road from the southbound 405 to the southbound State Route 73, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP officials said Carranza lost control of the 2003 Harley-Davidson he was riding and was ejected. It’s unclear how fast Carranza was traveling, according to the CHP.
