Costa Mesa man killed in motorcycle crash on I-405

A 35-year-old Costa Mesa man died after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing on the 405 Freeway early Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man, whose name was not released, was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson south on the I-405 at about 2:15 a.m. when he lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle at the 73 Toll Road interchange in Costa Mesa, authorities said.

It’s unknown how fast the motorcycle was traveling, according to the CHP.

Investigators asked that anyone who witnessed the crash call the CHP’s Santa Ana office at (714) 567-6000.
