Share

The Mesa Water District begins its annual Water Issues Study Group program Jan. 21.

The free series, now in its 29th year, teaches ratepayers about local and state water history, water quality, conservation and efficiency methods, according to a news release. Tours of a district reservoir and the Mesa Water Reliability Facility on Gisler Avenue are included.

More than 500 have participated in the program through the years.

“Water Issues Study Group is an enduring and engaging water education program for adults to learn from the experts about our fascinating local and regional water history and today’s critical water issues,” said Mesa Water President Shawn Dewane in a statement.

“The workshops provide thoughtful presentation and discussion of our current drought situation and the solutions that will allow us to sustain our economy and quality of life, while sharing valuable knowledge of efficient water-use practices.”
