Marian Hope Thompson Isaacs<br/>August 26, 2014

Marian Hope Thompson Isaacs, 91, passed into glory on August 26, 2014. One of six children born to Torres O. and Emily Thompson, Marian earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from UCLA and a master’s degree from Cal State Fullerton. She worked for the Department of the Treasury and was active at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Costa Mesa, where for many years she served as its school board president.

The great loves of Marian’s life were her faith and her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dr. Robert R. Isaacs. Survived by her children Robert, James, Nancy and Susan; children-in-law Phillip, Larry, Yuhuan and Annkatrin; grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Jonathan, Elisabeth and Marie; brother Tommy Thompson and sister Susie Aslanian.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 5, at 11am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church: 2283 Palo Verde Ave, Long Beach, CA 90815. Her family misses her, but “to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord.”
