Herbert Fowler Kostlan
Herbert Fowler Kostlan best known as Herb passed away at his Balboa Island home on Thursday, August 8th. He was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought well and hard over a 3 year period. Herb led an amazing life; throughout his years he cherished his life long friendships and had a great gift of encouraging and reaching out to others. Herb graduated from USC in 1958 with a degree in business and was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was a lifelong supporter of Trojan sports. He moved to Newport Beach in 1960 and worked within the commercial real estate industry for over 30 years starting with Coldwell Banker. He reconnected with a childhood friend Donna Claire Baker and they were married in 2001. She was the love of his life. He lived by the credo “Faith, Family & Friends”. He was predeceased by his daughter Catherine Kostlan. He was survived by his wife Donna, daughter Susie Elliott (Chris), son Stephen Kostlan and grandchildren Shannon and Wyatt Elliott. Herb’s influence will be felt for years. His memorial service will be held at Mariners Church Chapel in Irvine on August 19th at 10:00AM.
