Joyce Irene (Chung) Bodenhoefer was surrounded by family when she passed away on December 11, 2014 in her home town of Temecula. She was 75 years old.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, Joyce was married for 57 years to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Ray Bodenhoefer. She was a member of the Newport Harbor HS Class of 1956; children Stacey and Kenneth II both graduated from Harbor High as well. Joyce and Ken made their home in Costa Mesa until 1995, when Joyce’s career with World S&L drew her and Ken to San Antonio, TX. They returned to California three years later, and retired in Temecula.

An excellent cook, Joyce was also a gifted artisan and proud homemaker. Her grandchildren adored their “Doppy” and were spoiled with handmade treasures that she crafted with love.

Family and friends meant everything to Joyce: she and Ken never missed the opportunity to travel to a graduation, wedding, or any celebration of one of life’s milestones. Enthusiastic RV campers, the couple had visited all of the lower 48 states in their coach.

Joyce was a regular volunteer at Temecula Valley Hospital and T.V. Library, Treasurer of the T.V. Woman’s Club and was well loved by her T.V. Elks friends.

Joyce is survived by her husband; daughter Stacey Stephens of Oak Park, and son Kenneth Bodenhoefer II of Rancho Cucamonga; brother Gary Chung of Paso Robles; sisters Maxine Boyett of Costa Mesa and Caroline Naigle of Cedar Park, Texas; and grandchildren Alexandra, Camille, Kyle and Jillian.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana.
