A memorial will be held for Corona del Mar resident Greg Lee at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hope Chapel in Huntington Beach.

Lee died Sept. 11 at age 57 when a fire broke out in his home during the day. He was the son of Audrey Churchill and Donald Lee and is survived by both of his parents, sisters Pamela Hickson (Mark) and Pennie Lee, brother Mark Lee (Cherie), aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

“He was a great guy. He was just a great guy,” said Elizabeth Jackson, who dated Lee for about three years before he died. “He had a lot of passion for life and was always able to help anyone who needed help. He lived in Corona del Mar most of his life, and everyone kind of knew him.”

Lee owned his home improvement construction company, Greg Lee Builders Inc. He also enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, skiing, mountain biking and playing golf.

“He was just a real outdoorsman and loved to be outside, tell stories and be around people,” Jackson said. “He was a good guy.”

Instead of flowers, Lee’s family requests donations to the Impact House. Checks with reference to Donald G. Lee in the memo can be sent to P.O. Box 93607, Pasadena, CA 91109 or Harvest Crusades, P.O. Box 4000, Riverside, CA 92514.

Corona del Mar Today first reported information about the memorial.
