Pick up some pottery at OCC ceramics sale

Those looking for holiday gifts — and a chance to support local arts education — can head to Orange Coast College Friday and Saturday, where the campus Mudslingers Club will host its 38th annual Holiday Ceramic Sale.

The sale, which offers more than 1,000 items created by intermediate and advanced OCC ceramics students, takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Art Center 113. Most proceeds go to the artists, but some also fund the ceramics program, according to Mudslingers member Suzanne Petry.

The wares on display this year, she said, range from decorative art to functional items such as casserole dishes.

“We have a lot of exciting items,” Petry said. “It’s going to be a good show. I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff that’s coming out of the kiln.”
