Danny Bibb October 18, 1950 - January 24, 2014

Danny was born in La Canada in 1950 and in 1963 arrived in Corona del Mar. Unbeknownst to him, he would then meet Lynda, his future wife, who lived just down the street. At 13 years old his grandfather put a golf club in his hands for the first time and taught him how to play. Since that very moment, he was hooked! He dreamed of golf and within six months he had a 5 handicap. He then went on to play in high school and as an adult he found Big Canyon Country Club, his new home away from home.

Between tee off times and dabbling in real estate, he finally asked Lynda on a date to the Quiet Woman, which was still their favorite restaurant in town, and they’ve been inseparable since. They married in 1976 and a couple years later started their family with the arrival of their first born, all the while Danny was practically living on the golf course winning club championship after championship, taking everyone’s money at the card tables and dabbling in real estate.

He went on to win 5 championships at Newport Beach Country Club and 6 at Big Canyon along with breaking 3 course records, one later being broken by Tiger Woods.

By 1990, Danny had become a prominent name in real estate. Danny had a vision to break away from corporate real estate and with Tom Queen, Stephanie Grody, Stella Worden and Carolyn Lowe by his side, he opened the boutique real estate firm, Coast Newport Properties. Coast Newport Properties was a wild success and with four local offices it became the leader in luxury branding. Danny was the most influential residential real estate person in the county and Coast Newport Properties mirrored his success. Throughout the 1990’s, the Daily Pilot recognized Danny as one of the most influential people in Newport Beach. His successes and strategies would pave the way for all of the other local spin off brokerage firms to come.

In 1999, Danny was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and has been fighting an uphill battle since. His courage, motivation, words of wisdom, loyalty and friendship have changed many people’s lives forever. He was a cheerleader to every agent that walked in his door. He will forever be missed and he will continue to inspire us all.

Danny is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lynda and three children Lindsay, D.J. and Kristy.
