Barbara passed away peacefully at age 82, surrounded by her family.

Born in New York City, she and her family moved to Los Angeles in 1943. After graduating from Uni High in 1950, she attended UC Santa Barbara and UCLA. Shortly thereafter she met Danny Lindquist, a TV Producer, and they married in 1953. They moved to Newport Beach in 1959, where they raised their 3 children. After divorcing in 1967, Barbara met Dick Shaw, well-known Newport cartoonist and skipper of “The Michigan.” They were together until Dick’s death in 1976.

Barbara’s passions were politics, the Lord, her church, and listening to classical music. She was very artistic, she could paint beautifully, and she loved to cook. Her Thanksgiving dinners (and her apple pie) were legendary!

She leaves behind 3 children (Taryn, David, and Tracey), 5 amazing grandchildren (Brianna, Courtney, Andrew, Wyatt, and Hunter), 3 siblings (Elizabeth, Bob, and Bill), and many others in her extended network of family and friends.

She loved to laugh, she was feisty to the end, and she will be missed by all.
