Barbara Arens Jones<br/> July 27, 1947 - April 12, 2014

Barbara’s courageous battle with cancer came to an end at her home on Saturday, April 12, surrounded by her immediate family. She was 66.

Barbara was born on July 27, 1947, in Pasadena, CA, to John Edward Arens, of Plainfield, NJ, and Ruth Colwell Hamilton, of Cranford, NJ. She lived her early years in San Marino, CA and moved to Newport Beach in 1964. She is a 1965 graduate of Desert Sun School, Idyllwild, CA. She received her BA from United States Intn’l Univ. in San Diego, her JD from Western State Univ., and was admitted to the Bar 1992, Barbara was a member of Balboa Yacht Club for over 40 years and an avid Harbor 20 sailboat racer.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Wayne L. Jones; her two children, Christopher G. Jones, of Irvine, CA, and Jennifer Jones Stout, of Topanga Canyon, CA; a granddaughter, Maxine Mae Stout; a brother, John H. Arens, and several nieces and nephews. She was certainly the wind beneath our wings.

Memorial service: St. James the Great, Episcopal Church, Saturday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m., located at 3209 Via Lido, Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Barbara’s name to St James the Great, Episcopal Church. A Celebration of Barbara’s life immediately follows at Balboa Yacht Club, 1801 Bayside Dr., Corona Del Mar, CA.
