Some city services closed for holidays

Newport Beach and Costa Mesa city halls will be closed Monday through Jan. 2, according to city sources.

All Newport Beach Public Library locations will also be closed from Saturday to Jan. 2, according to the city website.

Newport Beach parking lot and meter services will continue as will police, fire and marine services. Street sweeping and trash collection will continue; however, both will occur one day later than normal.

In Costa Mesa, the Neighborhood Community Center, Downtown Recreation Center and Balearic Community Center will be closed from Monday though Jan. 2, said Bill Lobdell, interim director of communications.

Street sweeping in Costa Mesa will also be discontinued though the week.
