The Buffalo Exchange and Mercy House are collecting coats and blankets to redistribute to needy Orange County residents.

The clothing resale retailer’s Costa Mesa location at the Lab, 2930 Bristol St., will accept donations through Jan. 13. The drive started Nov. 15.

The Mercy House helps support homeless families, the physically or mentally disabled, people afflicted with HIV/AIDS, and those trying to recover from substance additions.

“Working with charities is a huge part of the Buffalo Exchange culture,” Kerstin Block, president and founder of Buffalo Exchange, said in a prepared statement. “[It] really highlights not only our promise to support nonprofit organizations whose values align with our own, but a vested interest by our team members in each of our stores to care for and contribute to their neighbors and nonprofits in their own communities.”
