Coat donation earns free breakfast bowl

A Newport Beach restaurant is collecting new and used winter coats and jackets for all genders until Wednesday.

Bowls, in the Village Newport Balboa shopping center at 4525 W. Coast Hwy., will redistribute the coats to the Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Area and the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter in Costa Mesa.

Newport-Mesa Unified school board Trustee Katrina Foley is helping organize the effort.

For every two items brought in, donors can get a free breakfast bowl.
