Santa Letters

The Costa Mesa Fire Department will take donations for its 12th year as part of its Santa Letters program, which brings basic supplies, toys and other items to families in need. Among the recipients are Costa Mesa families identified by social workers at area schools, and families met while responding to 911 calls. Those who wish to contribute also can deliver items to the families. For more information, visit http://www.santaletterscmfa.com or call (714) 754-5680.

Adopt-A-Family

Costa Mesa-based non-profit Share Our Selves will host an Adopt-A-Family program between Dec. 17 and 20 this year at the O.C. Fair & Event Center. There are several ways to donate through the program. SOS asks that donors contribute at least two gifts for every child in a family, and food or a grocery gift card for dinner for a family. Donors can also bring toys or gifts Dec. 17 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. or Dec. 18 between 8 a.m. and noon, or use a van or truck to help deliver toys to families. For more information, email AAF2012@shareourselves.org or call (949) 270-2136.
