Police and California Highway Patrol units pursued a suspected stolen vehicle into Corona del Mar on Thursday afternoon, police said.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen from Anaheim in mid-October. Westminster police spotted the vehicle and began pursuing it about noon Thursday, according to Newport Beach Police Sgt. Chuck Freeman.

As the vehicle traveled along a freeway, CHP joined in the pursuit. The vehicle exited and took Jamboree Road down to Coast Highway, Freeman said.

The male driver fled the vehicle and was arrested by Westminster police. A female passenger stayed in the vehicle and was also taken into custody, Freeman said.

No information further information was immediately available.
