Bask in new magazine’s luxury offerings

Bask, a luxury magazine based in Newport Beach, will debut its inaugural winter 2011 issue at a launch party Nov. 18.

Guests will have the chance to mingle with the magazine’s staff while enjoying cocktails and fashions by John Varvatos, Max Mara, Lugano Diamonds and Rolex.

Bask magazine aims to capture luxury living in Southern California — from fashion and food to home and travel. Sections in the quarterly publication will include baskstyle, bask@home, bask@table, which features cool eateries, and baskCulture, an arts section.

Bask has a couple familiar names on their masthead. Publisher Jolie Adams is a co-founder of Riviera magazine in Orange County and San Diego, and was most recently the associate publisher of M Magazine, which focuses on luxury real estate in Orange County.

Editor-in-Chief Carrie Williams is a Newport Beach native. She received journalism training working in TV news departments, such as KABC, KNBC and CNN’s Los Angeles bureau, and gained her editorial expertise while working as editor in chief of Coast Kids magazine. She’s also written for Coast and Orange Coast magazines.

The party will take place at La Bastide Estate in Shady Canyon in Irvine. Admittance is by invitation only.
