A Costa Mesa private school raised more than $2,000 Saturday for veteran’s families.

Mariners Christian School, K-8, raised $2,382 at a pancake breakfast Saturday for Fisher House Foundation, a national public-private partnership that provides housing near major military and veteran medical centers for families traveling to be with a hospitalized loved one.

More than 100 people ate about 1,000 pancakes.

The breakfast was the school’s kickoff event for its Veterans Day tribute.

The school will present a check to a Fisher House Foundation representative during its 10th annual Veterans Day program Friday.
