Share

Mark Yudof, president of the University of California, will speak at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Temple Bat Yahm in Newport Beach.

The event is part of the Rose Project Distinguished Guest Lecture Series, which aims to raise awareness about issues facing students at UC Irvine and other universities in Orange County. The Rose Project was founded by the Jewish Federation and Family Services in Orange County, which wants to ensure that students are “informed about issues of Jewish life and Israel…are deeply educated on the facts and the myths” and “are fully engaged in positive advocacy for Israel.”

Yudof is expected to address the religious tensions at UC Irvine and other UC campuses as well as comment on other issues public education is confronting.

“We are excited to have President Yudof visit Orange County and address our community,” Shalom Elcott, president and CEO of Jewish Federation and Family Services, said in a release. “We extended an invitation a few months ago and we are grateful he has been able to accommodate our request this month. We expect this be a well-attended event.”

Anyone that is interested in attending must register in advance at jewishorangecounty.org.
