The body of a Newport Coast woman, who prosecutors allege was killed by her husband, was identified Thursday by the San Diego County medical examiner’s office.

The remains of Quee Chadwick were found in a San Diego-area Dumpster, Orange County prosecutors said.

A cause of death has not been determined.

Newport Beach police announced Thursday night that they found a body in a trash bin in the 12000 block of Wildcat Canyon Road in San Diego’s Lakeside area.

Chadwick’s husband, Peter Chadwick, 48, faces one felony count of murder for financial gain, and prosecutors said the couple fought last week about a possible divorce and resulting financial issues. A neighbor heard a scream coming from the home.

Interviewed by the Daily Pilot in Orange County Jail Friday, Peter Chadwick said through tears, “I just want my kids to be OK.”

He declined further comment.

Last Wednesday, a neighbor who lives near the Chadwicks’ Newport Coast home called police concerned because no one picked up the couple’s children from school. Police arrested Peter Chadwick near the U.S.-Mexico border Thursday morning.

Sources close to the investigation have said he claimed an assailant forced him to load his wife’s body into his vehicle and drive to the border after another man killed her.

His next court appearance is Oct. 26.
