Water district hires spokeswoman

COSTA MESA — The Mesa Consolidated Water District has hired Stacy Taylor as its communications manager.

In her new role, Taylor, formerly principal of Taylor Public Relations, a marketing communications consulting firm in Huntington Beach, will act as the district’s liaison with local and regional businesses, community groups, and civic and nonprofit organizations, according to a press release.

She will also be responsible for legislative affairs, media relations, publications, the speaker’s bureau, water education programs and water industry relations.

“Mesa Consolidated Water District’s Board of Directors has listed communications as a high priority in its strategic plan, and we are pleased to bring on Stacy Taylor as a senior-level communications professional with more than 20 years of experience,” said Shawn Dewane, board president, in a prepared statement. “Our goal is to clearly and consistently communicate the district’s brand, goals and mission across all audiences.”

Mesa Water provides water service to more than 110,000 customers in an 18-square-mile area that includes the city of Costa Mesa, parts of Newport Beach and John Wayne Airport.
