Suspect turns over abducted child

A man who allegedly hit his child’s mother and then abducted their 13-month-old has turned the infant over to family in Arizona, authorities said Tuesday.

Lucas Delany Huscher, 31, of Bishop gave his daughter, who appears to be unharmed, to family in Bullhead City, according to Newport Beach police.

Initial reports said the child was a boy.

Huscher is being sought on suspicion of felony domestic violence, felony child endangerment and child abduction.

He was last seen at a hotel in Laughlin, Nev., police said.

He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 165 pounds and has blue eyes and blond hair.

He hit the girl’s mother in the 400 block of East Bay Avenue about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

He then fled, crashing the vehicle he was driving at 15th Street and West Balboa Boulevard then fleeing that scene on foot with the infant.

Newport police searched the area, using Huntington Beach’s police helicopter with help from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Harbor Patrol.
