COSTA MESA — The Segerstrom Center for the Arts has hired the former vice president of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County Children’s Foundation as its new director of development.

Tanya Lieber was recruited in a nationwide search because of her extensive background in annual and capital fundraising campaigns, and her ability to work skillfully with new people, said Terrence Dwyer, the center’s president.

Additionally, Lieber is a rare fit because she is “not just talented, but she also cares a great deal about the mission of the center and contributing to the quality of life in the community,” Dwyer said.

Lieber has also served as the director of health sciences advancement at UC Davis, director of development for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University, and worked in various roles with the American Heart Assn. and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
