Police do not plan to investigate Andy Dick film festival incident

Police do not plan to investigate a report of alleged lewd behavior by actor Andy Dick at a Newport Beach Film Festival party last month because no crime was reported, Sgt. Steve Burdette said.

The alleged incident may be handled “in house,” between Dick and the film festival’s organizers, Burdette said.

A May 12 posting on the celebrity news site RadarOnline.com reported that the festival may seek civil damages for property damage and indecent exposure in public at a festival party.

Dick allegedly urinated on a display booth backdrop and tore down a display, as well as rubbed his exposed genitals on a display table.
