Los Angeles-based healthy salads and sandwiches eatery Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop will expand into Orange County with the April opening of a Costa Mesa location.

Greenleaf opens April 30 on East 17th Street, between Orange and Santa Ana avenues, in a 4,200-square-foot space reflective of the restaurant-meets-farmstand atmosphere signature to its Beverly Hills and Century City locations, according to a news release.

Developers submitted plans for the project, which is the largest of the Greenleaf locations, to city planners in May, according to Daily Pilot archives.

The restaurant will open at 8 a.m. daily and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner items consisting of a variety of salads, wraps and sandwiches. Wine and beer will also be available.

“I’m thrilled to open Greenleaf in Costa Mesa,” Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop owner and “Commander-in-Leaf” Jonathan Rollo said in a prepared statement. “We searched for a great Orange County location for a long time and I couldn’t be more excited about how the restaurant turned out.”

Thirteen parking sports were added to the 80 stalls already available in the shopping center.

Guests can create their own salads, choosing from almost 80 toppings and 15 dressings or can select signature menu items such as the antioxidant orchard salad, $10.95; the Buffalo “wangs” lite salad, $9.95; wild mushroom and truffle pizza, $9.95; and a housemate turkey burger, $10.95.

The restaurant also features ready-to-go packaged meals and curbside pickup.
