The Costa Mesa Division Managers’ Assn. may contribute almost 2% more into the state retirement fund if an agreement between the group and the city is passed during Tuesday’s regular City Council meeting.

Association members would begin paying an additional 1.949% to the California Public Employees Retirement System on April 8 and create a savings for the city of $35,000, according to a city staff report.

In other council business, council members will consider a proposal to amend the recently established Costa Mesa Housing Authority bylaws.

The amended bylaws would provide board members with a $15-per-meeting stipend, designate city CEO Tom Hatch as CMHA executive director and set the regular CMHA meeting for the second Tuesday of each month.

City Council members will also vote on awarding contracts for intersection improvements.

City staff recommends that a contract for $144,850 to complete work at Baker and Bristol streets be awarded to Costa Mesa firm Civil Works Engineers, while a $70,434 contract for work at Harbor Boulevard and Victoria Street should be awarded to Irvine firm VA Consulting, according to a staff report.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.
