Detective’s memorial set for Friday

A memorial service for a Costa Mesa police detective killed in a car crash is scheduled for Friday.

The service for Det. Mike Delgadillo is set for 11 a.m. at the Saint Thomas More Catholic Parish, 51 Marketplace, Irvine. Delgadillo, 57, died Wednesday while off-duty in single-car crash, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Delgadillo, a 32-year department veteran, is survived by four children, both parents and a brother, police have said.

Last week police announced that a fund had been established to benefit his family.
