Police: Man implicates wife in burglaries

A man arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order implicated his wife in a series of burglaries in Costa Mesa, leading to her arrest, police said.

On Sunday residents in the 2100 block of Santa Ana Avenue spotted a woman going in and out of a home and stashing property in bushes nearby, according to police.

When residents confronted the woman, she said she was a victim of domestic violence and fled, police said.

Police had arrested Timothy Kosi, 45, on Saturday on suspicion of violating a restraining order issued after a domestic disturbance with his wife. They found him in possession of his wife’s purse, which contained several credit cards stolen from cars.

Timothy Kosi implicated his wife, Heather, 40, of Costa Mesa, in the burglaries, police said.

Police kept Heather Kosi’s car under surveillance Monday morning, but also followed a car they later learned Timothy Kosi was driving with Heather Kosi in the passenger seat. Timothy and Heather Kosi were both later arrested.

In addition to the restraining order violation, Timothy Kosi was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond, according to police.

Heather Kosi was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of prescription drugs and a suspected methamphetamine pipe. She is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, police said.
