Get great hair for a good cause

It’s Valentine’s Day weekend, so love is in the air — and for a few hours on Saturday, in the hair.
Ten hair stylists will volunteer their services at Tek Salon and Spa in Costa Mesa on Saturday for discounted blow-dries and styles in the name of cancer research.
As an early fundraising boost for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation’s Cinco de Mayo Reaching for the Cure Run/Walk in May in Irvine, a local mom organized the Saturday fundraiser with all the money going to the charity.
“It’s a great chance for women to come and get pampered a little before Valentine’s Day and walk out with gorgeous hair for a great cause,” said Jennifer Scheumann, who organized the event and operates the https://www.tinyoranges.com blog for Orange County moms.
From noon to 6 p.m., customers can go to Tek Salon and Spa, 230 E. 17th St., Suite 120, and get a $25 blow-dry and style from one of 10 volunteering stylists. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. You can call the salon at (714) 614-5588.
