A 14-year-old Irvine teenager was reported missing after not showing up to school on Tuesday morning. Authorities think that Alan Rose may be a runaway headed to Mexico, according to an Irvine Police Department news release issued Wednesday.

Alan’s father said he last saw him at 6 a.m. Tuesday, before leaving for work. He called law enforcement about 4 p.m., after school officials notified him of his son’s truancy.

An investigation revealed he may have gone to Tecate, Calif., a San Diego County border town across from the Mexican city of the same name, and may be trying to cross over into Mexico.

Because Alan is a minor, Irvine police are asking for the public’s help in finding him. According to Irvine police, Alan is a 5-foot-3 white male with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with any information concerning Alan or his whereabouts is asked to call (949) 724-7200.
