Bar Assn. picks president

Wayne R. Gross is the 2013 president of the Newport Beach-based Orange County Bar Assn., according to a news release.

The Hon. William W. Bedworth installed Gross, and the other board members, during the association’s Judges’ Night and Annual Meeting on Thursday, the OCBA release said.

Gross, who graduated from the UC Hasting College of the Law in San Francisco, is a shareholder of Greenberg Traurig LLP, where he focuses on trial practice, complex civil litigation and white collar defense, the release stated.

Previously he was chief of the Orange County U.S. attorney’s office. He also serves on the boards of the Assn. of Business Trial Lawyers, the Orange County Chapter of the Federal Bar Assn. and the Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County.

Thomas H. Bienert Jr. of Bienert, Miller & Katzman PLC and Ashleigh E. Aitken of Aitken Aitken Cohn were installed as president-elect and treasurer. Todd G. Friedland of Stephens Friedland LLP is the association’s secretary.
