British-based LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics just opened its first Orange County store at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
Vegetarians, vegans and those who stay away from preservatives and packaging can find cruelty-free skin- and hair-care products with cheeky names like, Sex Bomb Bath Bomb, Karma Soap, Lust Soap, and Friends With Benefits Massage Bar.
The famed Gorilla Perfume line is also available in nearly 20 scents, including Olive Branch, Silk Underwear, Yuzu & Coco and Rose Jam Perfume. Founded by Mark and Simon Constantine, the Gorilla Perfume collection focuses on quality perfumery rather than on marketing. Each scent was inspired by art, music, emotions, friends and stories.

Play to make its West Coast debut at SCR
“Elemeno Pea,” a smart comedy about utter chaos and the rich behaving badly in Martha’s Vineyard, makes its West Coast premiere at South Coast Repertory from Jan. 27 through Feb. 26.
The play centers around two polar opposite sisters, down-to-Earth Devon and status-seeking Simone, during a weekend trip gone wrong at a beachfront mansion. There’s plenty of squabbling, jealousy, marital discord and, of course, comic relief.
“Elemeno Pea” marks the SoCal directorial debut of SCR Artistic Director Marc Masterson, who spearheaded the play’s world premiere when he was at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Ky.

Not your typical tattoo parlor
It’s time to rethink tattoo parlors as the stereotypical seedy shop in a strip mall where you’d rather not be seen.
A group of established artists is changing the way people view tattoo shops at the new Living Art Gallery/Tattoo Lounge in San Clemente.
Appointments start with consultations and sketches. This is not a tattoo shop where you choose the unicorn/rainbow on page three. All tattoos are one-of-a-kind painterly creations, ranging from animation to fine art works. Tattooing costs start at $120 per hour.
Living Art Gallery will also host group art shows, including “The Panelists,” a comic strip concept show curated by KRK Ryden, which opens on Jan. 21 and runs through Feb. 14.
“The Panelists” cleverly tells a comic book story by a group of accomplished artists, who were each given a story background and then created comic book art works. The story comes together on a panel.
