Mailbag: ‘You can’t make this stuff up’

Share

This is not the first time I have responded to the rants of Jamshed Dastur (“Mailbag: Right wing full of ‘RepubLiars,’” Sept. 16). In fact, the letter is really funny ... but disturbingly delusional.

Let’s try to help this guy and find out why the Daily Pilot is behind a nefarious scheme involving Rep. John Campbell, news manipulation, part of the ever-increasingly dangerous John Birch Society and conspiring with corporate-funded hatemongers and racebaiters. He even says this is part of a scheme to bring down our form of government to the delight of al-Qaida.

You can’t make this stuff up. Really!

It’s hard to believe these kind of wackos live amongst us. For your clarification, Mr. Dastur, it is not a crime for Rep. Campbell to have an office in Fashion Island. You also state that an informed electorate needs an independent and critical media. You mean the unbiased liberal views of the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post and just about every major news outlet with the exception of the Wall Street Journal and Fox?

The only lapse in judgment with the Pilot was posting a letter from a far left loon who apparently gets all his information from Media Matters and MoveOn.org.

The person who authorized the sobriety checkpoint on Harbor Boulevard and the 405 Freeway at 6 p.m. on Sept. 16 should be fired immediately.

The stupid action caused a massive backup on the 405 in both directions during rush-hour traffic. I personally was stuck in the traffic and experienced stress, undue wear and tear on my car, wasted fuel and frayed nerves.

It is beyond my understanding why that location and time of day was selected. There are no bars serving alcohol in that area. What a waste and imposition on the residents trying to get home from work.

On top of it all, my dinner was cold once I finally got home.

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your editorial on anti-Islamic sentiment (“Editorial: Defusing Islamophobia,” Sept. 12). It is nice to see that some media channels are open-minded and are willing to write/show the truth and remind people of the realities out there.

I hope to see more of these articles come out more frequently. Thanks again.
