UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts is offering high school students some intensive summer arts workshops.

The Summer Academy in the Arts will offer two-week sessions in dance, drama and the digital arts under the direction of the college’s faculty and graduate students.

Students can pick from ballet, modern and jazz dance, acting for stage, improvisation and musical theater, or digital arts classes that haven’t yet been determined.

The workshops will focus on technique, philosophy and research. Students may get performance opportunities.

On the last day of classes, families will be invited to a potluck to see what the students have accomplished.

The classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 27 through July 9.

Each session is $500 and is open to any student graduating middle school through high school.

Applications must be received by June 10 and enrollment is limited.
