JWA official to monitor flights from bluff

A John Wayne Airport official will come to Newport Beach Tuesday morning to observe planes on their take-off flight paths from the Orange County aviation hub, JWA spokeswoman Jenny Wedge confirmed.

Due to increased complaints from Corona del Mar residents about airplane noise, airport officials have agreed to observe planes from a bluff near CdM, according to Newport Beach Councilwoman Leslie Daigle, who chairs the Citizens’ Aviation Committee.

She and other officials will be at Back Bay View Park, at Coast Highway and Jamboree Road, at 7 a.m. Tuesday. The gathering is open to the public.
