Irvine schools place in Math Meet

Two Irvine high schools took top spots in a countywide math competition, including University High School for the third year in a row.

University High School placed first and Woodbridge High School third in Orange Coast College’s 54th annual Math Meet in March, where 76 students from 19 high schools across Orange County competed.

University’s Eddie Dinh took the top individual, or mathlete, honor followed by Dillon Zhi of Woodbridge and Justin Kang from University.

James and William Xue also competed on University’s team, and Wei-Ting Hsu, Jiyoung Song and Soo Yeon Sohn competed for Woodbridge.
