COSTA MESA — The city will host a pre-screening Friday of a movie following Costa Mesa’s adopted Marine battalion into the frontlines of the Afghanistan war.

The movie, “Patrol Base Jaker,” follows the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines into their tour in Afghanistan’s Nawa district in 2009 and 2010. It will be shown at 7 p.m. at Triangle Square Cinemas, 1870 Harbor Blvd.
