OCTA, cities to hold open house about 55 Freeway exit [Corrected]

Share

The Orange County Transportation Authority along with officials from Costa Mesa and Newport Beach will be on hand for an open-house event Wednesday evening to discuss possible improvements to the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway exit from Newport Boulevard to Industrial Way.

From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., officials will offer materials and information on OCTA’s current improvement study for the corridor into Newport Beach.

FOR THE RECORD:
An earlier version incorrectly stated the times for the open house.

The 55 Freeway exit onto Newport Boulevard is one of the busiest intersections in Orange County with more than 100,000 vehicles passing through it daily. An improvement study was completed in 2008 that presented seven options for addressing the traffic that’s only expected to grow. Officials whittled that list down to four that they’re studying. The community can learn about those four options Wednesday.
