JWA opens small terminal for commuter aircraft

John Wayne Airport opened a new small terminal Thursday designed for commuter aircraft — the smaller commercial planes flown by carriers such as Delta Connection and United Express. At the north end of the airport, near the San Diego (405) Freeway, the North Commuter Terminal can be accessed through the main Terminal A.

This project is part of a broader $540-million airport expansion. By mid-November, airport officials hope to finish Terminal C, the largest component of the expansion.
