Newport police searching for missing woman

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a Newport Beach woman missing since Aug. 22.

Police said that Erika Lopez, 24, hasn’t been seen since 11 a.m. Aug. 22 around Sherington Place and Irvine Avenue in Newport Beach, adjacent to the Costa Mesa border.

Her friend reported her missing two days later, on Wednesday.

She was last seen wearing a pink sweatshirt and white sweatpants. She is described as Latina, 5 feet tall, 115 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes and a thin build.
