Rede, Manuel A.,78 passed away peacefully on June 3rd with family by his side. He was born in 1932 and graduated from CSUF with a B.A. in Political Science and M.P.A. degree, which he obtained after serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He had a long career in public service, after working as an aeronautical engineer for North American Rockwell. He started his public servant career as the Personnel Director for LAUSD before embarking on a career in city government as a Personnel Director, Deputy City Manager and City Manager for various cities in California. After he retired from city government, he worked for the Federal Department of Justice (Immigration & Naturalization Service). He loved his family, and was also an avid baseball fan. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and children, Michael (Carolyn), Laura (Scott), Robert (Anna), and Stephanie (Paul), and 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Sean, Christina, Rochelle, Nicholas, Chad & Aubrey, as well as three brothers and one sister. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by all.

Private funeral services with close family members and friends will be held.
