If your mother would rather spend time in a Home Goods store than in her own home, this is the option for you. The 13th annual Huntington Beach Home and Garden Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The day includes a tour of several picturesque local homes, a gourmet buffet lunch and dessert, and a Mother’s Day boutique at the Huntington Beach Art Center, 538 Main St.

Walk the talk

Moms who are more set on saving the world than salivating over brunch would love to walk with their loved ones in the annual Orange County Walk Like MADD 5K.

Once again starting at Huntington City Beach at Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard, the day’s opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. The paved walk begins at 9 a.m., with closing ceremonies at 11:30 a.m.

Pop-up panache

For adventurous types, the touring pop-up restaurant ‘Pri-v¿ returns this weekend to Taco Asylum at The Camp, 2937 S. Bristol St. #B102, Costa Mesa, for a six-course “Brunch for Dinner” Mother’s Day special on Sunday and Monday.

Available between 6 and 9 p.m. both days, the $60 meal includes “playful interpretations of classic brunch items in a dinner setting,” like scallop crudo and quail adobo.

Make a Statement (Piece)

The Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach holds year-round art classes. From 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, join a two-hour jewelry making class with designer and metal smith David Farris.

Participants will learn to make a one-of-a-kind pendant and/or earrings using techniques like cold connection, stamping, texturing, finishing, metal forming and stamping. No experience is necessary. The cost is $95 per person.

Other classes this weekend include water casting with Erin Elowe at 10 a.m.; whimsical teapot making with Walter Reiss at 10 a.m.; and a fused glass origami bowl class with Maggie Spencer at 2 p.m. Information: sawdustartfestival.org.

The Queen Mum in your life would absolutely love a meal at the renovated Five Crowns, 3801 E. Coast Hwy., Corona del Mar.

The English-inspired environs and revitalized menu are a classic choice. The Mother’s Day menu includes a starter course with every entrée, beginning with brunch at 10 a.m. Starters include lobster bisque and Mary Alice’s Pride salad.
