Pet of the Week

With a name like Dorney, you need to do some explaining. First of all, Dorney is a female Staffordshire terrier mix, found as a stray last May. She was just one year old, underweight, suffering from kennel cough, and cautious about making friends. So this poor girl had to overcome more than her unusual Irish name, which ironically means “sullen” in Gaelic.

It has been a long process, but fast-forward to the present and Dorney has emerged a fit, healthy and attractive youngster. She enjoys her walks and gets along well with just about everyone. Dorney is house-trained, playful and well-behaved, especially once she is out of her confining kennel. A new home and name would complete her transformation.

Dorney’s adoption fees are discounted 50% all week when you mention this announcement at the Orange County Humane Society, 21632 Newland St., Huntington Beach. For more information, call (714) 536–8480 or visit https://www.ochumanesociety.com.
